The New Yankee Stadium
This was my first good look at the stadium after emerging from the subway:
All you have to do is turn around to see the empty upper-deck seats of the old stadium, a bittersweet sight for any Yankees fan:
The outer concourse is wide and (during day games, at least) bright, and features banners of famous Yankees past:
Thanks to my friend Kraig, we had amazing seats along the first base line. Here are two views, one during the overcast early innings and another after the sun came out:
The most reassuring and familiar site from the old stadium was the ageless, dominant Mariano Rivera, who pitched the ninth:
Lastly, two shots from the 4 train platform. (Traveling to the game I had taken the D, which arrives underground.)
